Introduction Moonshot

We see that the potential of Dutch digital culture is not being used to the full.
This Moonshot explores the opportunities and bottlenecks in the sector.

What is digital culture?

Digital culture is not a clearly defined field; it consists of many multidisciplinary practices that overlap with other sectors. This is its strength, but also its Achilles heel.

Value

Digital culture is of great value and importance to the Netherlands. Great economic value as a Dutch export product, economic value, intrinsic artistic value and value as driver of innovation and much more.

The players

The digital culture field is vast, and we will never be able to create a complete overview of it, but we are making an attempt.

Bottlenecks

Scaling, growth towards greater visibility, healthier working conditions, establishment of revenue models and a stronger international profile are hard to achieve under current circumstances.

Solutions

The Digital Culture Moonshot is a dot on the horizon, a shot for the moon, a point we want to arrive at as a sector. What do we want to achieve? What do we need? What will it cost?

Diving deeper

We see that the potential of Dutch digital culture is not being used to the full. This Moonshot explores the opportunities and bottlenecks in the sector. The input is drawn from expert sessions held at Cinekid, NFF, IDFA and Het Nieuwe Instituut.

The Moonshot aims to provide a detailed picture of digital culture, the players, the value of the field, the bottlenecks and possible solutions.
